AFRO-beat singer, Seun Kuti, will no longer be able to perform at this year’s Coachella, a popular annual music festival. This is because the concert has officially been cancelled.
Eelive.ng had reported that organisers of the popular music festival released a full list of the global artistes billed to perform at the 2020 edition, which saw Kuti emerged as the only Nigerian artiste billed to perform, just like he did some years ago when he first performed as the only Nigerian.
He was expected to perform alongside members of Egypt ’80, his late father, Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti‘s band.
But in view of an order given by California’s Riverside County Public Health Officer, Dr. Cameron Kaiser, which saw the 2020 edition of Coachella cancelled, Kuti alongside other artistes will no longer perform at the festival as planned. Although, organisers of Coachella are yet to tell whether the event will hold virtually.
Coachella is one of the most famous and profitable music festivals in the United States and around the world.
