Following her acting debut in Kunle Afolayan‘s Citation, socialite Temi Otedola has received a nomination in Best of Nollywood’s Revelation of the Year Award category.
The category, reserved for up and coming movie stars, also has Munachi Abii, Bolaji Ogunmola, Dami Awokoya, and Mimi Daniels. In the male category, the contenders are Tunde Aderinoye, Fuad Ferdinand, Swanky JKA, Mike Afolarin, Moshood Fattah, and Heavens Obule.
Movie lovers were curious when director Kunle Afolayan announced that Temi Otedola was starring in his latest project, Citation. The budding actress played a brilliant but naive post-graduate student battling through a sexual assault trial against her professor.
The movie’s set spans across three countries; Nigeria, Senegal, and Cape Verde and three languages; English, Yoruba, and French, are used generously throughout the film.
The movie premiered just over a week ago and went straight to streaming giant Netflix. Citation has remained on the platform’s top 10 list in different countries since its release. The movie will likely see a lot of nominations in the coming months. But for now, let’s wait and see if Temi Otedola bags the award.
The 12th Annual Best of Nollywood Awards is taking place on the 5th of December and will be hosted by Ekiti State. With the First Lady of the state reportedly being quite the movie buff, this year’s event will definitely be one for the books.
