Beloved Nollywood actors and comics, Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme have announced a new TV show titled Fatty and Sons.

This would be the comedic duo’s first collaboration in years.

Directed by Ehizojie Ojesebholo, the Fatty and Sons series follows the life of a middle aged mechanic, Fatai. The audience will watch as Fatai navigates handling his workshop, his son and his apprentices. It also stars Muyiwa Adegoke, Ngozi Nwosu, Saeed ‘Funky Mallam’ Mohammed, Oluwatoyin ‘DatWarrigirl’ Albert, and Nedu Wazobia.

Iheme, well known as ‘Paw Paw’ took to his Instagram to announce the news.

The post caption said,

“You guys asked for a TV series; so, here you have it. This time, we are adding Amala and Ewedu to the menu. The title is Fatty and Sons Autos. Where una go like watch am?”

This comes after a clamoring from fans for the veteran actors to once again get back together on screen. The pair had earlier hinted about working jointly on a project like old times.

Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme rose to fame in 2003’s Aki na Ukwa playing the legendary characters Aki and Paw Paw respectively. The pair featured as mischievous twin brothers on a mission to ruin their father’s attempts at remarrying after their mother’s death.

Earlier this year, it was announced that popular filmmaker Charles Okpaleke was planning to remake the classic movie. The filmmaker took to his Instagram to make the announcement.

Okpaleke’s debut film, Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, won seven awards at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2020. He has also done a remake of Nollywood classic films like Nneka the Pretty Serpent and Glamour Girls.
