Veteran Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, proves her feminine prowess once again, but this time, with recognition from royalty as she features in Meghan Markle’s edition of British Vogue magazine.

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, emerged as the guest editor for the September edition of British Vogue and she titles it “Forces of Change”.

Meghan disclosed in a statement that she sought to steer the focus of the September issue, hence her decision to feature 15 women she considered strong ambassadors for change in our world today.

Alongside Adichie, the Duchess also features teenage climate change campaigner; Greta Thunberg, New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Arden, boxer Ramla Ali and actress and women’s rights advocate Salma Hayek Pinault, to mention but a few.

“Through this lens I hope you’ll feel the strength of the collective in the diverse selection of women chosen for the cover as well as the team of support I called upon within the issue to help bring this to light. “I hope readers feel as inspired as I do, by the ‘Forces for Change’ they’ll find within these pages,” Markle said.

The Duchess disclosed that she spent seven months working with British Vogue editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, on the issue.

Chimamanda boasts of many books under her belt, some of which are; “The Thing Around Your Neck”, “Americanah”, “We Should All Be Feminists”, “Half of a Yellow Sun” and “Purple Hibiscus”, many of which have been translated into over 30 languages.

An official Instagram post from the office of the Duchess announced that the magazine cover also features an exclusive interview with the former First-Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, in which the two Superwomen engage in candid conversations affecting women and humanity in general.
