In the tweet, the singer didn’t only label their geographical entity as damn, but also travelling to their hometown for Christmas is a risk not worth taking.

“Stop travelling to the damn EAST just coz it’s Christmas! Is it worth your life??? Stop that primitive behavior. The roads are busy ! Pick some other damn time! Plan…?” his tweet read.

Chike has however apologised for his statement on Southeasterners, saying he was misunderstood.

In his rejoinder, the music star said his statement came out of a place of pain after he lost two of his friends who were returning from their Christmas trip.

“I believe my now-deleted tweet was misunderstood as it was an emotional one . This morning, 2 friends died on their road trip back from the village . I think the roads are too risky for everyone to be headed home & back. If you have been hurt, I sincerely apologize,” the rejoinder read.
