Nollywood filmmaker, Charles Okpaleke has secured the rights to produce the biopic of Shina Rambo, a former bandit and armed robbery kingpin who terrorised the SouthWest region of Nigeria in the 90s.
In a post on his Instagram page, the Play Network Studio‘s CEO revealed that he’s advancing step to make the biopic, as Rambo already received him in audience to grant his approval.
“I sat down for 3 hours and listened to a former bandit and armed robbery kingpin who terrorised Southwest Nigeria in the 90s. Though he’s now a pastor preaching the gospel, his story was intriguing. I decided to acquire the Intellectual property rights to his story and make it an action-packed feature film. His name is Shina Rambo,” he wrote.
Born Oluwasina Oluwagbemiga, Rambo was one of the most notorious armed robbers in the Nigerian History.
He made headlines in the history for committing various crimes, amongst which he would go to police stations in broad daylight and kill every policeman there, drive to check points and open fire on every policeman on duty.
After terrorising the South west in 90s, he gave himself up to the police, and was eventually convicted. Although, he was released from prison after serving 11 years jail term at Agodi Prison, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
