Nigerian film maker, Charles Okpaleke, has confirmed that the Living in Bondage franchise is gearing up for a third installment.
According to him, the thriller which snagged seven plagues at the 2020 edition of the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) will be released alongside Osuofia Goes to Miami and Glamour Girls sequel in 2021.
“It’s official guys! You would be getting a Living in Bondage: Breaking Free sequel. 2021: Osuofia Goes to Miami, Glamour Girls, Living in Bondage sequel. I can’t stop!!!! Nollywood we’ve come to stay,” he wrote on his Insta stories.
The development comes a few months after Okpaleke had secured the copyrights for the remake of the 1994 Nollywood blockbuster, Glamour Girls, under Play Network Africa, his production company.

Written by Nicole Asinugo and C.J. Obasi, Living in Bondage: Breaking Free tells the story of Nnamdi, Andy Okeke‘s mysterious son, and his frantic approach to getting luxuries of life at his disposal.
Osuofia in London, which debuted 17 years ago, is a comedy produced by Kingsley Ogoro. It became one of the highest-selling movie of its kind and was followed by a 2004 sequel of the same name.
Glamour Girls, a 1994 classic, originally directed by Chika Onukwufor, follows the story of a village girl whose desire for a better life got her to take a questionable job in Lagos.
