CBS Studios’ ‘The Doctors’ Makes Nigerian Debut

The Doctors, a medical show from CBS Studios International is set to launch in Nigeria, with the premiere episode and all subsequent episodes airing weekly on Africa Magic from February 2020.

The series features a panel of real-life doctors who offers the best of entertainment and health advice to television.

Roxanne Pompa ,Vice President, International Formats for CBS Studios International, negotiated the deal with Dr. Dayo Osholowu, Executive Producer and host of The Doctors Africa Version of the series. Commenting on the milestone, Pompa said :

It’s terrific that CBS Studios International and Dr. Osholowu are bringing such a globally recognised format like The Doctors to Africa.

This is a show that empowers its viewers with insight and information, and will serve as a public service for the broad and engaged audiences found across the African continent.”

Speaking about the partnership, Channel Director for Africa Magic, Mrs. Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu said: “We are always on the lookout for fresh and original African content.

With the dual objective of entertaining and educating, I am confident that The Doctors will receive the same level of success its international counterpart gained in the United States.”

On the other hand, Dr. Dayo Osholowu said the series will begin a cultural shift in the way Africans think about, talk about, and respond to the African health crisis.

Osholowu, host of the Doctors Nigeria is a Nigeria Physician and Surgeon has a triple International Post Graduate Certification in Sports Medicine from the International Olympic Committee, Football Medicine and Emergency Mass Medicine from FIFA Football Medicine Center of Excellence and Aviation & Emergency Transport Medicine from the International Association of Air Medical Services.
