CANADIAN singer, Claire Elise Boucher, professionally known as Grimes, has explained the meaning of the strange name given to her newborn with billionaire Elon Musk.
Confirming the name given to her first child with the SpaceX CEO, the 32-year-old recording artiste, who put to bed on Monday, May 4, 2020, explained that X Æ A-12 (the name given to their child), represents something special to them.
“X [represents] the unknown variable,” Grimes wrote, referring to the first letter of X Æ A-12’s name.
She then went on to explain that the next symbol in her son’s name was from fantastical elves. “Æ is the Elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence),” she stated.
The final symbol in the name, Grimes explained, is a reference to the A-12 aircraft built for the CIA in the 1960s.
“A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent,” the music star stated.
She also added that A additionally stands for Archangel, ‘her favorite song’.
While the singer explained in detail what the name means, she, however, failed to educate her fans on how to actually pronounce the name. If the name pronunciation is a challenge, how are you managing to call it?
