In November this year, he won the Best African Act at the MTV EMA Awards and took over London’s Wembley Arena with a massive sold-out show, becoming the first afrobeat star to sell out at the Arena. In June he won the Best International Act at the BET awards. His album also won the category for Album of the year at the recently concluded All Africa Music Awards (AAMA).
