Burna Boy Celebrates The Liberated Woman in “Omo” Video

Burna Boy just released the vibrant video of “Omo”. One of the shorter tracks on the “African Giant” album, “Omo” praises a woman who is both beautiful and independent.

As such, the video features a club-like aesthetic with neon strobe lights and a vixen dancing on a pole. Burna Boy is in the midst of it all delivering amazing vocals in the “Giant Club”.

As a giant, Oluwa Burna has no time for small girls. The women in this video flaunt their beauty, bodies, and bundles of cash as proudly as Burna flaunts his bling.

Speaking of bling, Burna Boy rocks a chunk of gold chains with a large Fela image in front of it as well as rings and a diamond-encrusted pair of tiny shades

In the “Omo” video, Burna Boy admires different forms of liberation a woman can experience, from financial to sexual. The vixens in this video range from pretty women to strippers to the high-powered money woman.

The lyrics of this song say, “She no dey find anybody wey go control her”. Contrary to the mild-mannered obedient woman that society has for a long time praised, Burna prefers the “bad girl” type

This is not the woman that brings herself down to make a man feel good about himself. Neither is she the woman that tames her sexuality like it ascribes some sort of virtue to her.

Not at all. This babe is fine like Omotola, makes money like Otedola, and doesn’t care what you think or have to say about it. That is a big mood and we are so here for it!

Burna Boy doesn’t disappoint with his lyrics or his visuals. We can’t wait to see what the Afro-fusion singer will come up with next.
