Nigerian Afro-beats singer, Burna Boy has bagged two nominations at the BRIT Awards 2020.
The ‘African Giant’ was nominated in the International Male Solo Artiste category and is up against Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Tyler The Creator and Post Malone. This nomination comes after the Grammy nomination that Burna Boy received for his critically-acclaimed album, African Giant.
Burna Boy got his second nomination in the ‘Song of the Year’ category after featuring on Dave’s hit single “Location.”
The BRIT Awards 2020 will be the 40th edition of the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards. The awards ceremony will take place next month on February 18, and will be hosted by Jack Whitehall, for the third year running.
Nominations are led by British rapper of Nigerian descent, Dave and singer, Lewis Capaldi. Mabel and Stormzy are tied for second with three nominations.
However, Burna Boy had an incredible year in 2019, and it looks like 2020 will just be as exciting.
In 2019, Burna Boy was featured by some British artistes like Dave, Mahalia, Jorja Smith, Wretch 32 and Stormzy. In addition ‘Own It,’ his collaboration with Stormzy and Ed Sheeran made it to No. 1. on the top 10 Official UK Singles chart.
