Burna Boy Loses Brits Award to Tyler, The Creator

Nigerian Afro-beats singer, Burna Boy has lost the 40th Brits International Male Award to American rapper, Tyler, The Creator. The Grammy-nominated singer, real name, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, was nominated alongside Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Post Malone and Tyler, The Creator.

Burna Boy also got his second nomination in the ‘Song of the Year’ category after featuring on Dave’s hit single Location, but the pair lost the award to Lewis Calpaldi‘s Someone You Loved.

The singer earned the two nominations after the Grammy nomination that he received for his critically-acclaimed album, African Giant, an award he lost to Beninese music legend, Angelique Kidjo.

The British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards, BRITS took place on February 18, and was hosted by Jack Whitehall, for the third year running.
