It’s no news that Nigerian afro-beats singer, Burna Boy lost the Best World Music 2020 Grammy Awards to Beninise singer Angelique Kidjo. Conversations on social media fast turned into a competition between Burna and Kidjo, with some saying Burna Boy was cheated.
While there are arguments whether Burna Boy deserved the award or not, the Anybody crooner is super excited for Angelique Kidjo, whom he featured on Different, a song from his fourth studio album, “African Giant ” which earned him the Grammy nomination.
However, Burna Boy revealed earlier during a Breakfast Club interview on Power 105.1, New York, that he personally sought out Angelique Kidjo for his Grammy-nominated album, African Giant.
And true to form, the African Giant who shied away from social media all through the awards ceremony took to his Twitter page to congratulate Kidjo and declared his everlasting love for her. Further, he called her “Mama Africa.”
He wrote that, “I love you forever @angeliquekidjo and every single person that rooted for me, I don’t take any of it lightly! The world get ready cause we’re all coming! #FOOTONNECK2020.”
