B-Red, Davido’s cousin and son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, shared an interesting encounter during an interview at Echo Room.
He revealed that on the first day he and Davido met Burna Boy in Port Harcourt, Burna Boy was seen chasing after their car.
“The first day I met Burna Boy, it was in Port Harcourt and he was running after me and Davido’s telling us he loves our music.”
During the interview, B-Red opened up about his music journey and the challenges he faced in Atlanta, where he hustled alongside his brother Shina Rambo.
He shared that it was his suggestion for Davido to pursue singing, and as Davido gained fame, B-Red supported and hyped him, gradually gaining recognition for himself.
Eventually, B-Red collaborated with Davido and entered the mainstream music scene, experiencing some success.
It’s worth noting that B-Red’s revelation comes shortly after Davido’s controversial tweet categorizing Burna Boy as one of the “new cats.”
During the interview, Davido confidently asserted that he and Wizkid were the pioneers in taking Nigerian music to an international level.
Expanding on this, he proceeded to mention several emerging talents whom he referred to as “new cats,” contributing to the global reach of Afrobeats.
Among the artists he listed were Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, and Asake.
Notably, Davido included Burna Boy in this group of rising stars.
