Meagan Good has revealed that bleaching her skin was one of the most shameful experiences she has been through.

There have been rumours that the American movie star and model had bleached her skin with Meagan adamantly denying it.

The 39-year-old, however, admitted to being five shades lighter than she was in a recent interview with The Shade Room.

During the interview, the actress explained that an “unlicensed esthetician” had given her a product; to correct a sun damage mark on her forehead that eventually messed up my skin.

“I went to an unlicensed esthetician who convinced me that I needed to get rid of some sun damage. And a few months later, I am like five shades lighter than I actually am. And it was a really traumatic experience because I really trusted the person,” she said.

She went on to state that esthetician misled her into thinking that her colour would return to its original state.

“I kept asking her through the process, like ‘Is this what’s supposed to happen?’ She’s like, ‘Oh it’ll lift and it’ll come back.’ I got to the place of realizing I don’t know if it’s going to come back. I think I’ve been bamboozled.”

When asked how she feels about being accused and slammed for skin bleaching, and trying to conform to societal standards of beauty by lightening her beautiful brown skin; Meagan Good admitted that the experience has been painful and traumatic for her.

“It was super embarrassing and super painful especially in the climate we’re in as black women,” she added.
