Nigerian singer and former member of the Plantashun Boiz group, Ahmedu Obiabo, popularly known as Blackface, has expressed his readiness to end his long-standing feud with Innocent Idibia, also known as 2face.
In a recent appearance on the podcast show, The Honest Bunch, Blackface discussed his relationships with his former bandmates, Chibuzor Oji (Faze) and 2face.
He mentioned that he and Faze have maintained a good relationship since the group split in 2004, but his relationship with 2face has been less amicable.
Blackface stated that he’s willing to settle the issues with 2face, has forgiven him, and encouraged his former bandmate to do the same.
Blackface said:
“It is time to bury the hatchet. I forgive 2face for everything he has done to me knowingly and unknowingly, you better put it in your mind to forgive me because I have done nothing wrong and I know you know what I’m talking about. It’s time for us to go to the next level”.
The long-standing feud between Blackface and 2face, which has persisted since the breakup of their group Plantashun Boiz, was primarily centered around copyright disputes.
Blackface claimed he wrote the hit single ‘African Queen,’ featured on 2face Idibia’s debut solo album, ‘Face2Face.’
This dispute escalated over the years, with Blackface making various allegations of copyright infringements.
In 2019, tensions escalated when Blackface released a diss track titled ‘War,’ in which he accused 2face of being gay, resulting in a defamation lawsuit filed by 2face seeking ₦50 million in damages.
The situation worsened in 2014 when 2face released a single called ‘Let Somebody Love You,’ which allegedly contained lyrics written by Blackface.
Blackface demanded that Efe Omorogbe, 2face’s manager, be removed from the song as a condition for resolving their issues.
Now, it seems that Blackface is willing to put their differences behind and seek reconciliation.
