Black Panther: Wakanda Forever makes African box office history within few days of release

The Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever breaks box office records across Africa.

The latest movie opened in theatres on November 11th, 2022, and has already earned the biggest opening weekend of all time in West Africa. The Marvel studios Super Hero blockbuster has drawn audiences with just under 300,000 attendances being reported all over the continent.

The blockbuster has become the biggest industry opening weekend of all time with a box office equal to #240million in West Africa. However, its fame is not just streamlined to West Africa, as It has now earned the title of the biggest post-pandemic opening to date in East Africa.
Also, in Southern Africa, the blockbuster brought in R16.5M.

Although the original 2018 movie ‘Black Panther’ still remains the number 1 film of all time in both East and West Africa. Also the number 2 film of all time in Southern Africa.

Outside of Africa, Wakanda Forever is also doing great numbers, having brought in $180million within the first weekend of its debut. It is now the second-biggest domestic debut.

Eelive earlier reported the premiere hosted here in Nigeria which had some of the casts and crew of the movie in Lagos. It was the first official African Marvel Studios premiere in Nigeria.
