Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman has died after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

His representative confirmed that he died on Friday, August 28, 2020, at the age of 43.

“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. It was the honour of his life to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther,” a statement shared to his Twitter feed read.

Boseman was reported to have passed away at his home in Los Angeles, with his wife and family by his side.

Born in the United States, Boseman graduated from Howard University and had small roles in television before his first star turn in 2013. His striking portrayal of the stoic baseball star Jackie Robinson in 42, a 2013 American biographical sports film about the racial integration Robinson experienced, drew attention in Hollywood.

His T’Challa character was first introduced to the blockbuster Captain America: Civil War in 2016, and his Wakanda forever salute reverberated around the world after the release of Black Panther in 2018.

May his soul rest in peace.
