Kanye West, U.S rapper and business man joined protesters from Chicago, his home town to protest the recent killing of George Floyd, a black American.
The rapper was photographed among several demonstrators who thronged the streets of Chicago.
Donning a black face mask, West, 42, wore a dark gray hoodie, tan pants and what appeared to be Yeezy Season 2 sole boots.
In a video shared by a reporter for NBC Chicago, Trina Orlando, West stands as a fellow marcher yells: “We need everybody to stand where they are because we are going to march.”
The demonstration further stretches the global outrage that has continued to trail the killing of Floyd, an unarmed black men who died after a white police officer pinned him to the ground with a knee on his neck as he repeatedly he couldn’t breathe and pleaded for the officer to stop.
This isn’t the first time Kanye West has shown his support for Floyd.
Recently, the rapper, 42, created a 529 college savings plan to fully cover tuition for Floyd‘s 6-year-old daughter Gianna.
In addition, he donated $2 million to support the grieving families and the legal funds for George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbrery, and Breonna Taylor following their deaths.
West‘s representative says he has also donated to several black-owned businesses in crisis in his hometown of Chicago and nationwide.
Over the past few days, 25 cities across the US have been under curfew after citizens took the streets to protest Floyd’s death.
Among the other celebrities that have dug deep to support the movement was Drake; who has committed $100,000 to the National Bail Out collective.
The Weekend has also matched Drake‘s donation and directed a further $200,000 to Black Lives Matter Global Network.
