Queen Bey has a reputation for killing it at whatever she does and she has done it again. Beyonce’s Superstar Sneakers, which she made in collaboration with sportswear brand Adidas; has completely sold out within just 10 MINUTES of its release!
Following the rousing success that was the Adidas X Ivy Park collaboration in January, Beyonce and Adidas decided to collaborate again on an even bigger project.
Earlier this month, Adidas announced that Beyonce had “lent her elegance and perspective to the iconic silhouette for the 50th Anniversary of the Superstar.”
The Beyonce designed Adidas Superstar 50th Anniversary Edition sold out in a mind-blowing 10 minutes across the sportswear giant’s stories worldwide.
This was all despite many calling the designs ugly. The classic shoe still has its black stripes and a rubber shell toe. However, it’s been elevated in the middle of the shoe to create a platform. The $200 shoe also has a pointy end.
A Beyonce stan account used a tweet from the City Girls’ Yung Miami to express their apprehension about the shoe; saying, “Maybe it gotta grow on y’all idk”. Other fans responded to Addidas tweet about the shoe saying; “Adidas be honest all of you sat down and agreed that this shoe was cute?”
