Finally! American musical icon Beyonce has commenced filming the music video of her song “Brown Skin Girl”. The track, featuring Wizkid and Saint Jhn, was one of the most popular on the “Lion King: The Gift” album.
The song marked Beyonce’s second collaboration with her daughter Blue Ivy, who also sings on the track. Beyonce is currently shooting the video at several locations across Catford and Thamesmead in London.
According to a British tabloid, Daily Mail, the talented singer has called on black and brown people of different cultures, nationalities, ethnicity, gender, and ages to step forward and tell their story.
The main focus of the video is showcasing a variety of body shapes. It will also focus on beauty across different ages, from as young as six months to the elderly. This is spot on, as “Brown Skin Girl” made a huge splash as a love song to women of colour everywhere.
The video will be directed by Nigerian, Jenn Nkiru who was born in Peckham, England. Nkiru had also worked with Beyonce and her husband, Jay Z on their smash hit single, “Apesh*t” in 2018.
We cannot wait to see the full vision of Jenn Nkiru and Beyonce come to life in the video of “Brown Skin Girl”
