American rapper Fabolous recently revealed that Beyoncé confronted him about his disrespectful lyrics about her sister Solange.
In his song “For The Money,” Fabolous raps: “We could be the dream team baby, Kobe and LeBron / Only if you gold, I never do the bronze / ‘Cause if you could have Beyoncé, would you take Solange?“
In an interview with Power 105.1’s radio show The Breakfast Club, the rapper revealed how the Knowles sisters reacted to the punchline, saying, “The first person I saw was Bey, and Beyoncé was like, ‘Yo, let me holler at you.’”
“She was just telling me that they rock with me. And I really didn’t even think when I was saying it … Punchline-y [rap] style is just to say something to be catchy and metaphoric, but I didn’t see the deeper side of it,” he said.
“And Beyoncé, I ain’t gonna share the exact conversation, but she told me this is people. Saying something like that can personally hurt her,” he continued.
Beyoncé made Fabolous apologize to Solange…
“And I said, ‘You know what, I get it’. I said, ‘Yo, when I see Solange, I’ll apologize to her.’”
“So I ended up seeing [Solange] at Soho House one day. It was years ago, so I was like, all right, let me beeline to Solange and apologize,” Fabolous recalled.
According to the rapper, Solange was stiff when she saw him. Apparently, the lyrics had hurt her that deeply.
“I’m like, ‘Yo, I just want you to know I didn’t mean it in any malice, but I do take responsibility for saying that and I apologize,’” he revealed.
If there’s one thing you should know about Beyoncé, it is that she fiercely protects her family. So you can expect that if you mess with anyone, especially her sister Solange, she’s going to come for you. Fabolous learned that the hard way.
