BET: South African Music Star Accuses Burna Boy of Insecurity

Sho Madjozi and Burna Boy

SOUTH African singer and rapper, Sho Madjozi has accused Nigerian afro-fusion star, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy of insecurity.

According to her, Burna Boy is insecure; and this is why he ordered that Stormzy’s team take down the remix Own It, on which she featured. This comes after BET nominated her in the same award category with him.

In a thread on Twitter, Sho Madjozi claimed the so-called African Giant asked Stormzy’s team to take down the remix of the hit song after they got nominations in the same award category.

Burna Boy

She wrote; “For those asking where the #Ownitremix is… after I got the BET Best International Act nomination alongside him; Burna Boy asked Stormzy’s team to take down the song immediately. The song was out for a whole month before that, no problem.

“Everyone nominated has done big tings and should be confident that their work will speak for itself. Personally I’m happy with the work I have done in the past year. John Cena was an international phenomenon, I did that.”

The South African music star also claimed that she and Burna Boy were on good terms until they were both got the Best International Act nomination.

Sho Madjozi maintained that Burna Boy took the remix down because he felt she was a threat to him.

This is, however, the second time Burna Boy will be up for the Best International Act. While he won the award last year (2019), Sho Madjozi bagged the award for Best New International Act. But in spite of his achievements, Burna Boy’s actions do reek of insecurity.

Who among these artistes stands a higher chance of winning the Best International Act for this year?
