Big Brother Naija’s former housemate Uriel Oputa has garnered widespread praise for her selfless act of offering to adopt a baby girl abandoned by a riverside in Kogi State.
The heartbreaking news of the baby’s discovery was reported on Friday, sparking an outpouring of support and concern from the public.
A resident, Omera Ugbede Opaluwa, posted a video of the baby girl, who was found crying near Niger Bridge in the Ajaokuta area of Kogi State. According to Opaluwa, the child was discovered by one of the leaders of the community after he heard her crying at the riverside. The community leader also found some baby clothes, a wrapper, and other items at the scene.

The community leader stated that they would notify the local government authorities and take care of the baby until they can identify the mother. This act of kindness and responsibility from the community has been widely appreciated.
Reacting to the news via the comment section of a popular blog, Uriel offered to raise and care for the baby girl.
She promised that the baby would never go hungry in her care, saying, “Pls let me have her. She will never go hungry”. Uriel’s offer has been met with praise and admiration from netizens, who appreciate her kindness and generosity and others asking the baby be given to the BBNaija star.
