Venita Akpofure, a Big Brother Naija contestant, spoke candidly with fellow reality star Tacha on The Big Friday Show and advised against marrying too soon.
Venita emphasised the importance of enjoying one’s youth and gaining diverse life experiences prior to marriage. She advised women to avoid marriage, particularly before the age of 28.
She said, “Don’t marry young o! Don’t say, ‘I’m going to high school, sweetheart. ‘We die here.’ Just be young! Enjoy your life. “When you are tired, get married.”
The mother of two emphasised her stance, particularly for her daughter, saying, “If my daughter approaches me, as long as she is not, I swear to God, not up to 28, we can rock with it. Anything under 28, please no.
The reality star emphasised the importance of fully discovering oneself before committing to marriage.
She acknowledged that, while some people may be mature at a younger age, it is critical to investigate various aspects of life in order to make informed decisions about marriage.
“Don’t get me wrong, there are people who are mature, oh. But you need to try different things in life, different experiences, to be sure of okay, I want to be stuck here. Because it’s handcuff, you’re there,” Venita explained.
Venita, who is divorced, shared her own experience, providing insight into the challenges of long-term commitment.
She suggested that couples consider having separate but connected rooms to help maintain independence and avoid potential conflicts.
