MultiChoice Nigeria, the orgsanisers of BBNaija, the recently-concluded reality TV show, has fulfilled its promises to Laycon, the winner of the show’s Lockdown edition.
Eelive.ng had reported that Laycon, on Sunday, September 27, 2020, won the reality TV show, after scoring the highest votes in the final week of the show.
On Wednesday, September 30, MultiChoice presented to the 26-year-old his gifts at a prize presentation ceremony.
While he was awarded a cash prize of N30 million, an SUV and a two-bedroom flat, were also presented to him as promised.
Also worthy of mention a N5 million prize to Laycon and Ozo on their MAD Sports initiative, and an all-expense-paid trip to the Guinness House Dublin for Dorathy and the show winner.
Expressing gratitude to MultiChoice, Laycon, who made history with over 60 percent of the BBNaija final votes, thanked the organisers, fellow housemates, family, fans, and sponsors of the event.
“I don’t know what to say, I love you guys very much,” he said while disclosing that he intends to work on projects that will impact the society positively.
Speaking at the Prize presentation ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe said, “Planning a show of this magnitude during these times was not without its challenges. For one, we resorted to holding virtual auditions where we received over 30,000 video entries, from which the “Lockdown 20” were selected.”
Ugbe added that Big Brother Naija has changed the way many people define employment and relevance.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State government has reached out to Laycon, demanding for his tax payment.
In a congratulatory message from Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), the state’s tax and other revenue collector, Laycon was asked to pay his tax.
“Congratulations @itsLaycon winner @BBNaija Lockdown edition. More wins!! We look forward to seeing you in Y2021 as you #payyourtax,” LIRS tweeted.
