BBNaija 5: Why I Am Not Supporting Any Housemate- Mercy Eke

Mercy Eke

After facing heavy criticism for calling out unnamed fans of the ongoing BBNaija Season 5 reality show for getting her to support their favourite housemates, Mercy Eke has come out to defend herself.

The BBNaija season four winner had incurred the wrath of the show’s viewers after she “bragged” in an Instagram live session that she’s too busy to watch the reality show because she’s busy enjoying her life.

“I’m too busy working my a** off, doing the things I love, and enjoying myself. Just miss me with that bulls**t. You can’t force them, whoever on me,” she had said.

“Don’t try that nonsense with me. You can’t force me to sit at home and watch. You can’t do anything, so quit trying. I still don’t know these people. When I have time and I’m less busy.

“I’ll do what I want to do. Don’t try to make me see all these messages. Just enjoy yourself, it’s just a game. You can’t force to like you. I still don’t know them but when I do you’ll know.”

Eke addresses her comments

In the wake of the barrage of criticisms that trailed her comments, Eke took to Twitter to explain that her words were taken out of context, adding that she has no favourite housemate because she loves them equally.

“I was talking to those who were tarnishing my image on Twitter because I decided to stay neutral. I love all housemates equally, and everyone knows I’m a thankful person. Your narrative will never change my personality.” She said.

“For those who already knew that the clip was edited short without any shalaye (Explanations) thank you for knowing me.”

Mercy Eke became the fourth winner of the BB Naija reality show in 2019 and is the first female to achieve the feat, since its inception.

She secured 41.77 percent of the viewer’s votes to beat Mike, who got 19.94 percent, and emerged winner of the reality show.
