The first week of the BBNaija season 5 edition kicked off with so much adrenaline rush and drama. While some housemates are already forming bonds, some are currently at loggerheads with each other .
In case you missed the show this week, here are some interesting highlights of what happened in the big brother house.
HOH Challenge
After just a night in the house, the 20 housemates were made to participate in the head of house task.
For the challenge, housemates played a game of dice and whoever got a number 6 was to follow whatever instruction the number said. 22-year-old, Nengi and Neo got it right and finished in a tie.
They were told to play once each and surprisingly they ended on the same spot twice. Rebecca Nengi Hampson eventually edged out Neo by getting 2 extra points to emerge the first Head of House.
When asked to choose her deputy, she chose Wathoni to enjoy the benefits that comes with being the head of house. The win also grants them immunity from the first eviction nomination.
Love Ships Sailing
Like every other Big Brother, some relationships have started sailing, more reason for fans to stay glued to their TV. The first official ship in the house is Eric and Lilo who can’t keep their hands off each other. Even though Lilo has already stated that she has a relationship outside the house, looks like Eric is enjoying the moment.
Meanwhile, Ozo seems to be cut in between Nengi and Dorothy. He revealed that although Nengi is definitely his spec, he has a connection with Dorathy.
“Big brother like I said, the most is Dora. She’s really cool, her personality is up there. I don’t think there’s anyone I will put ahead of her,” he told Biggie during his Diary session.
Another ship fans are rotting for is Erica and Laycon which seems impossible with Kiddwaya in the picture. The billionaire’s son slid into Erica‘s bed to comfort her while she cried over loneliness.
Still talking about ships, Neo and Vee have been spending time together, trying to build a ship? Perhaps.
No winner for week 1 Arena Game
Surprisingly, the first Betway arena game for this season ended with no winner. The housemates were given the task of making COVID-19 medical kits including nose mask and sanitiser; which was to be completed by all the housemates within 2 minutes. For their loss, Big Brother penalized all the housemates except Nengi and Lilo because they were close to the finish time.
Fights
There was drama in Biggie’s house on Friday after housemates Ka3na and Wathoni engaged in a heated argument leaving Wathoni in tears. It all began when the housemates were divided into two groups (Team Black & White) for their first arena games.
During the game, Team Black gave Japan as the answer to a question from Team White on where the next Olympic games will be held.
However, Team White said the correct answer was Tokyo. This led to a fight between the duo who nearly threw punches until housemates intervened to settle the fight.
It didn’t take long before Kaisha and Lucy started another fight over who left a used tampon in the bathroom.
Lucy threw the first punch by calling Kaisha indecisive. Kaisha fired back by asking Lucy to “shut up” and went on to call her an “old cargo”.
