Nigerian emerging Afrobeat star Oloruntimilehin Olorunyomi aka Bad Boy Timz has denied arrest. The Headies Award rookie of the year winner was not impressed by the news of his arrest.
A video recently emerged online where Olorunyomi was led by members of the Nigerian police force. This resulted in the rumours that the youngster was getting arrested for fraud-related issues.
However, shortly after this video was posted on a gossip blog, the rumour was debunked. Another video was posted immediately showing Olorunyomi saying in Yoruba that he was outside. He also added that he wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
The video shared was one that Olorunyomi posted on his Insta story. He captions it ‘fraudulent’ while having a laugh about the rumours. The fast-rising star graduated from Bells University this year.
He bagged a B.SC in Computer Engineering in April. 21-year-old Olorunyomi rose to fame after his song ‘MJ’ got popular in 2019. The remix of the song with DMW’s Mayorkun got even more attention.

Olorunyomi took advantage of this and made yet another remix of the song with Teni the Entertainer. It has been up since then for him. He has also been featured by prominent artists in the country too. His collaboration with Olamide – Loading, is a crowd’s favourite home and abroad.
This is not the first time a Nigerian artiste will be arrested for allegations of fraud. In 2019, Nigerian sensation, Azeez Fashola alias “Naira Marley” was charged by the EFCC for fraud.
Although Fashola was able to get out and be about his business, the case is still ongoing. In January this year, it was reported that more evidence had been admitted on the case to the court. The case brought a lot of attention to the musician at the time.
He then released the song “Am I a yahoo boy” right after he was granted bail. The song got a lot of buzz and became an anthem in the streets and clubs.
