Nigerian singer, Crayon, says Babyfresh stopped him from drug addiction.

The singer made the revelation known in a recent post on X (formerly called Twitter).

“I used to do drugs back in the day! Trams? My highest na 700 milligrams! Skushi’s from ele! 2 big ragolis me and my guys!! Emzolyn I dey pop raw 2 bottles! Ref! But I no do ice shaaa!” he said in Pidgin.

“And I no smoke Igbo sha me I get sense! Babyfresh picked me up from the slums he said you gats stop all those things I did!! All glory to God! I did!

“Now I do not smoke or do those things any more!!! Upon all the money wey I get! I am chilled!”

Earlier this month, the Mavin Records signee recounted some of the challenges he faced while growing up in a chat with Punch.

He said “I was norn in Orile Iganmu (Lagos) and when I was seven years old, we moved to a ‘face-me-I-face-you’ apartment in Ojo. We were about nine or 10 people sharing a room.

“I am the eldest child of my parents, and I faced a lot of financial struggles growing up. Money was very tight. I was sent home regularly from school due to unpaid fees, and I ended up taking the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination five times.

“During that time, I was working on my music, and helping my mum at the stall where she sold fruits in the market. Sometimes, I would even hawk the fruits in traffic.

“Going from that kind of life to being signed by Mavin Records, and on my way to becoming a global superstar, is my triumph. I used to be in the trenches and now I am triumphant.”
