Baba Suwe: son apologizes to TAMPAN, Nigerians

Nigerian actor and son of late veteran Nigerian comic actor, Baba Suwe, Adesola Omidina, has issued an apology to the members of Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association Of Nigeria (TAMPAN) as well as the general public over statements he  made after his father’s death.

In a viral video, he showed his father’s corpse,  claiming that friends and colleagues of the late actor abandoned him when he needed them the most.

However, on Tuesday Adesola retracted the statement writing on his Instagram page

“As the son of the veteran actor late Babatunde Omidina ‘Baba Suwe’, I am genuinely issuing this statement. This is to denounce and condemn the video(s) about Baba Suwe’s death that has been wrongly posted. The Nollywood, TAMPAN, the government, Prophets, family and fans have been supportive in their own ways. I tender an apology to all the groups, people and families affected! Again, please disregard any inappropriate ‘video’ circulating social media.” (sic)

Omidina rose to prominence after appearing in Olaiya Igwe’s 1997 film Iru Esin. He also appeared in and produced a number of Nigerian films, including Baba Jaiye Jaiye.
