Ariana Grande gave a stunning performance of Hercules’ soundtrack I Won’t Say I’m in Love on ABC’s Disney Family Sing-Along. The pop singer sang all the parts of the song; the solo and the backups while isolating at home.
Grande, who started her career as a child star on Broadway and Nickelodeon, gave a more modern rendition to the 1997 Disney classic Hercules soundtrack, originally sung by legendary 80s pop icon Belinda Carlisle.
In the movie, Meg sings this song while being teased by the Muses about her love for Hercules. She keeps denying it, referencing her sad history with men as a reason for her disdain for love. In the end, she finally gives in.

It’s safe to say Grande can hold her own beside an 80s icon. Ariana, who has had her own share of heartbreaks, rocks her signature ponytail like Meg’s. She also wears a shade of purple and plays around with a white flower and column pieces in her video.

This looks like it was quite fun to make. And it is quite timely too. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. It inspires feelings of safety by returning one back to a simpler and more comforting time.
And in the tense times we are in, this will really resonate with the generation that grew up on Disney classics, the millennials, and the parents they watched these with.
Stay safe, stay home, and enjoy some 90s nostalgia because the Disney Family Sing-Along is about to become a whole thing!
