American Rapper, Chynna Rogers Dead at 25

AMERICAN rapper and model, Chynna Rogers has died at the age of 25.

The deceased’s family disclosed her death through her management.

According to John Miller, the hip-hop artiste’s manager, Rogers died on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

“I can regrettably confirm Chynna passed away,” Miller announced. He added that her family said, “Chynna was deeply loved and will be sorely missed”.

A statement from her management team reads: “Rest In Peace Chynna. Heartbroken. All the love to those she left behind. Goodbye angel.”

While the cause of the Philadelphia native’s death is not yet public, her medical history reveals that she had battled with drug addiction in the past. However, there is no indication that it had anything to do with her death at this time.

The model-turned-artiste talked openly about her struggles with substance abuse and addressed her addiction with on the 2016 mixtape Ninety.

“I felt crazy and I didn’t want to be a statistic. I didn’t want to go out that way and people be like: ‘I told you so,” or glamorize it [drugs], because I don’t feel like that,” the The “Seasonal Depression rapper told VIBE in 2018, several years after getting clean.

“It was nerve-wracking to be open, but when you see how many more people who are dealing with the same thing, it’s good to have some kind of example of someone you didn’t expect to be going through it.”

Rogers entered the modeling world when she signed to Ford Models at the age of 14. Soon after, she became friends with A$AP Mob founder, A$AP Yams. It was the late Yams who gave Rogers the confidence to pursue a career in music.

The late music star was popular for her hit singles Selfie and Glen Coco. She also released the EP’s I’m Not Here. This Isn’t Happening in 2015 and Music 2 die 2 in 2016.
