American actress and ex-wife of Johnny Depp, Amber Heard has slammed him for creating a Tiktok account following his win against her in a defamation lawsuit.
He shared in the first video he posted on Tuesday,
“To all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters. We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared. And now, we will all move forward together.”
He continued,
“You are, as always, my employers and once again I am whittled down to no way to say thank you, other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love & respect, JD.”
In reaction, a spokesperson for Heard has shared
the actress’s thoughts on Depp’s desires to “move forward” beyond the trial. The spokesperson stated,
“As Johnny Depp says he’s ‘moving forward,’ women’s rights are moving backward. The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is…be afraid to stand up and speak out.”
On June 1, a Virginia jury found Heard liable of defaming Depp after he filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against her for an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018. Although Heard, had not mentioned Depp’s name in the publication, she has described herself as “public figure representing domestic abuse.”
After 13 hours of deliberation, the jury awarded $10 million to Depp in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, which the judge lowered to $350,000 due to the state’s limit.
Heard, who countersued Depp for $100 million, was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages.
