AKA‘s relationship with his late fiancée Nelli Tembe is currently under a microscope as domestic violence allegations have come to light.
Authorities initially ruled Nellie’s death a suicide when the news first broke out a month ago. However, her father Moses Tembe vehemently denied that his daughter committed suicide nor did she have any mental health issues. Tembe seemed to imply that drug/alcohol abuse was to blame for the demise of his daughter.
Now the blame has been shifted to her fiance, AKA, who according to the late Nellie’s friend was abusive. New photos have emerged of South African rapper AKA violently breaking down the door of a room his late fiancée Nelli Tembe hid during a fight.
The music star allegedly assaulted his late fiancee severally; according to a close friend of Nellie’s who spoke with News24. The friend told the publication that Nellie told her that AKA smashed her face against a wall during a fight in their apartment; after which she locked herself in the bedroom.
Nellie’s friend shared a video with News 24 which shows AKA using his hands to violently break down a wooden door, to enter the bedroom.
Check out the photos and a video of Nellie in visible distress below:
News 24 is in possession of pictures accompanying the incident; which shows the late Nellie putting bags of frozen food on her bruises. The incident allegedly took place on the 13th of March at AKA’s home, about a month before Anele’s death.
Apparently, AKA’s post about his innocence in the death of his fiancée was to address this alleged violence. In his statement, he wrote that it was unfortunate that people that he and Anele trusted with their challenges have “started using such to smear his reputation.”
He called their relationship “beautiful” but “tumultuous” and “challenging”, therefore not denying the violence allegations. However, AKA said he was not a suspect in the investigation.
