The sixth edition of the prestigious awards ceremony organised by The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), in conjunction with the Africa Union Commission (AUC) is set to kick off anytime soon.
In fact, the programme of events has been released ahead of the ceremonies. Planned activities will kick off on May 15, 2019 and continue non-sequentially till November 9, 2019.
Slated for this year on AFRIMA’s calendar are the following events; ‘Call for Entry/Entry Submission’ from May 15 to August 2, where African musicians are expected to submit their musical works for award consideration.
Submitted entries will go through a ‘Pre-Screening’ process by the Screening Committee of AFRIMA from August 3 to 5; closely followed by the ‘AFRIMA Adjudication’ process conducted by the International Jury of AFRIMA from 6 – 12 August 2019.
Nominees will be announced on August 13 – to unveil artistes whose works have received nominations.
Public voting will then commence on August 19 and will be conducted via their official website on www.afrima.org. The voting process will close 24 hours before the main awards ceremony.
A three-day fiesta of entertainment will close off the round of activities from November 6 to November 9.
The 2018 edition of the main awards ceremony was hosted by the Republic of Ghana, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
