Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Kemi Adekomi, is getting set to release a new film on police brutality titled The Last Straw.
A timely, affecting film, it tells the story of human right abuse, extortion, and extrajudicial killings of Nigerians by operatives of the now disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS). It is also a memorial to those who were killed by the rogue police unit.
Speaking on the forthcoming film, Adekomi, revealed that she wants the government and the police force to see the film, and understand the pains of Nigerians youths who started the #EndSars protest. She added that the movie is being handled by Kemistrydiva Productions, her film production brand.
Sharing a picture from the set on her social media page; Kemi Adekomi said that the film will be embedded in our hearts.
“The journey of a Story that will be embedded in our hearts. A story that will bare our hearts…. the struggles, the pains, the tears…. The Last Straw,” she captioned her post.
“This film is dedicated to all souls lost in Nigeria in the hands of SARS; from inception till it was finally disbanded by the Federal government in October 2020…. Our fallen heroes…..You will not be forgotten….This, is for you! Rest on…. All we said, and are saying is STOP KILLING US. Wait for it!!!!”
