Actors’ Guild to Receive Petitions from Sexual Harassment Victims

The Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has invited all those who have experienced difficulties; in the way of sexual abuse, molestations, financial demands and rape in the industry; to officially submit their petitions to the guild.

The Guild made this public in a statement they shared on Instagram on Thursday.

“In reaction to the recent revelations on rape/sexual molestation accusations on some individuals in the Film industry, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Emeka Rollas, in his avowed commitment to eradicate all forms of abuses to Actors in Nollywood, has directed the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sexual Harassment and Related Abuses to quickly open dedicated telephone line and email to enable victims reach out to the Guild…

“In view of this, all victims of sexual abuse, molestations, financial demands and rape; should kindly send their petition/complaint to this email address:
abuses@actorsguidofnigeria.com, 0705 397 5522…,” the statement from the Guild reads.

This decision by the Guild comes after allegations of sexual harassment faced by some filmmakers; such as Lancelot Imasuen and Victor Akpan. Other celebrities such as singers, Peruzzi and Brymo, have also had to defend themselves against rape allegations of rape in recent times.
