Actor, Doyin Hassan Loses Wife

Doyin Hassan, a veteran Nollywood actor better known for his role in Mount Zion gospel movies has lost his wife, Bolanle. She was 57.

According to PM news, Evangelist Bolanle died on December 9 and will be buried on December 18 at the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Ogun State.

The couple met at Mount Zion Drama Ministries where they were both given various roles to play. They have been married for 10 years.

Doyin Hassan got his movie break in the early 20’s Mount Zion ministry movie titled Captives of the Mighty where he starred as “Iguana” who was the spiritual husband of “Mabel”.

Born a Muslim, the actor converted to a Christian during his NYSC in Cross River state.

He has featured in many stage productions including Queen Mina, Iku Olokun Esin, Kurunmi, Lion and Jewel, Not My Abeni and Atahiru. The movies he has starred in include Died Wretched, Arrow of God (1998), Sango and Saworoide (1999), Agogo Ewo, Campus Queen, Arewa (2003) and Widows the Mourning After (2003).

Aside from Captives of the Mighty, Hassan has also acted in other Mount Zion movies like Strife of Tongues (2012), Hedge of Protection (2013), Divided Kingdom (2013), The Hurdle (2014), The United Church (2017) and Peace The Corner Stone (2018).
