Kanye West, rapper, designer and entrepreneur, has confirmed the release of his new album ‘Donda’, named after his late mother, who passed in 2007.
According to Hollywood Reporters, the album’s release date was aired on Tuesday during Game 6 of the NBA finals. Rumors had surfaced saying the rapper compared his marital home with ex-wife, Kim Kardashian to a “prison” on his new album. These rumors have been proven to be false
The album announcement was revealed via a commercial ad for Beats by Dre headphones. The reveal also added that the album will be released on Friday. Furthermore, a live-streamed album listening event will be held in Atlanta on Thursday.
The listening event will also be streamed live on Apple Music.
The Beats by Dre commercial stared US track and field star, Sha’Carri Richardson running 100 meters in slow motion, while Kanye West’s new song “No Child Left Behind” played.
The superstar athlete also announced via her verified Instagram page that another commercial and new song by the rapper will be released on Thursday.
She wrote, “there will be up and downs in life, but its important to remember to run your own race”

According to Beats by Dre, the song was also scored and edited by Kanye West himself.

The multiple time Grammy winner had previously said he would release Donda (also referred to as Donda: With Child) in July 2020, but no album surfaced.
Donda is West’s tenth studio album. According to reports, there are features from prominent acts like Pusha T, Baby Keem, Travis Scott, Lil Baby.
The last album from Kanye West was 2019’s gospel album, Jesus is King. The album also won the award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021.
