American film director, Curtis James Jackson III, popularly known by his stage name, 50 Cent, is making a Television series about popular con artist Hushpuppi.
50 Cent announced this development via his Instagram page yesterday, November 9th with a picture of Hushpuppi. He captions it; “For my scammers I gotta do this one, Hushpuppi series coming soon!”
Prior to this development, Universal Pictures and Mo Abudu’s Ebony Life acquired the rights to the Hushpuppi story. The Bloomberg article “The Fall of the Billionaire Gucci Master” was written in 2021. This is all following the recent court final ruling concerning the case against Hushpuppi.
Eelive reported earlier that Hushpuppi has been convicted of his fraud crimes and sentenced to 11years in prison, also to pay $1.7M to two fraud victims.
In 2020, Hushpuppi was arrested for an alleged $35 million fraud and on many counts of cybercrime. Ten months after his arrest in Dubai, Hushpuppi entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to attempted money laundering.
In April 2021, He also entered a guilty plea to accusations of multi-million dollar fraud brought by the US government. This is according to the court records as provided by US Department of Justice.
50 Cent is an American rapper, actor, businessman, and also known as a film Director. This is not the first time 50 Cent adapts real life stories into movies.
