American rapper-turned-producer Curtis James Jackson III, popularly known as 50 Cent, is making a new series. The true-crime series is made with the support of Discovery+ and Lionsgate TV. Jackson will also be partnering with ‘top producer’, Rich Bye and Goodbye Pictures.
G-Unit Film & Television, Jackson’s movie production company, started in 2003. Since then, he has produced many films and TV series. One of which is popular crime TV series, Power. Jackson’s new project Confessions of a Crime Queen will tell American crime stories that made major headlines.
Each season will combine documentary and scripted genres to focus on one famous female criminal. The main character will be an A-list American actress. She will also interview the original subject at intervals during the season.
In a recent statement, Jackson said: “As G-Unit Film & Television continues its rapid growth, we have to think outside the box and challenge ourselves to tell entertaining and important stories in new ways.”
“With the support of discovery+, our friends at Lionsgate TV and in partnership with top producer, Rich Bye and Goodbye Pictures, we have the right team to help us continue pushing the creative envelope. I am thrilled to add Confessions of a Crime Queen to the G-Unit Film & Television slate in 2022,” Jackson also added.
Meanwhile, casting is currently underway for the first season of the series. Confessions of a Crime Queen will debut in 2022.
Other Projects
Jackson’s production company, G-Unit Film & Television is presently producing other series. One of which is the Power Book II: Ghost, a possible sequel to the Power series. They are also working on a new series for Netflix, 50th Law among others.
The 45-year-old from Queens, New York city lost his mother to a fire at an early age. He has gone from selling drugs and almost getting killed to being a rapper. Jackson is now an actor, television producer and businessman.
His hit song, In da Club, is still a classic till date.
