Last year was quite chaotic, and it’s a breath of fresh air to realize some people were able to have a blissful union despite the COVID-19 outbreak. Many celebrities were hush-hush when they got married because of the COVID-19 guidelines. Or maybe they just preferred an intimate ceremony.
Here are five celebrities who had a private wedding in 2020.
1. Emmanuel Ikubese and Anita Adetoye
Although the wedding ceremony itself was solemn and private, with family, friends, and few celebrities as guests, the buzz around their union was deafening. Months before their wedding, there had been a lot of anticipation as to what these two celebrities will be like together.
The Hollywood actor and model, Emmanuel, tied the knot with his wife in March 2020, and some of the guests were Timi Dakolo, Tiwa Savage, who came to perform, and others. The beautiful couple seems genuinely happy and in love, and we are here to see it!
2. Nina
The 2018 Big Brother Naija contestant took to her social media account on January 1st, 2020, to share that she found true love and a lifetime of happiness she never thought was possible within a short time.
On February 15th, 2020, Nina secretly got married to her husband in Imo State. To date, she hasn’t revealed her husband’s identity and only posted pictures of herself during the ceremony.
3. Josh2funny
The comedian and actor finally tied the knot with his fiancee and long-term girlfriend in Dec 2020. The couple who had gotten engaged in 2020 has a low-key wedding with a few relatives and guests. The court wedding was held at the Ministry of Interior, Federal marriage Registry Ikoyi.
4. Khafi and Gedoni
You can find love anywhere, and these two ex-BBN housemates are a beautiful example of that. The 2019 Big Brother Naija stars Khafi Kareem, and Gedoni Ekpata tied the knot at the Ikoyi Marriage Registry on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
Although the wedding ceremony itself was a private affair, Khafi and Gedoni’s fans have been excited about the news; and we’re glad to see them officially together. We hope Mr. and Mrs. Ekpata have a blissful marriage.
5. Bukummi Oluwasina
If there’s one wedding that surprised a lot of people, it’s this affair. Bukummi had been dating her now-husband for 11years before they finally tied the knot. The actress kept her wedding on the down low because she didn’t want a big party. She apologized to her coworkers for not letting them know. That did not stop celebrities like Toyin Abraham, Mercy Aigbe; who took to Instagram to wish the new couple a happy married life.
It’s 2021 and we hope for more love stories and weddings.
