Four cast members from Vanderpump Rules, an American reality television series have been fired for charges of racism.
Bravo and Evolution Media on Tuesday confirmed that Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens; and Brett Caprioni will not be returning to to the show.
“Schroeder and Doute reportedly called the police on fellow cast member Faith Stowers, who is black; to report her for a crime she didn’t commit. Boyens and Caprioni both tweeted sexist and racist things (including the n-word) in years past,” the production company said in a statement.
Several of Vanderpump Rules stars had come under fire over the last week for their past actions, some of which were brought to light by Faith Stowers, who appeared in seasons 4 and 6.
Stowers, the only black cast member during her time on the show; accused Stassi and Kristen of calling the cops on her in 2018.
Faith Stowers speaks on arrest
“There was this article in the Daily Mail where there was an African American lady,” Faith Stowers said in an Instagram Live chat earlier this month. “It was a weird photo, so she looked very light-skinned and had these different, weird tattoos. I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me. This is like, a true story. I heard this from, actually, Stassi during an interview.”
Kristen would later boast about calling the police on Twitter. Stassi had bragged about it on a podcast, saying she and Kristen solved a crime.
Both Stassi and Kristen issued public apologies on June 7, but the damage was done, particularly in Stassi‘s case, as she’s been dropped by both her publicist and agent, as well as partnerships with several brands.
While the fallout from Stassi and Kristen‘s actions was occurring, racist tweets from Brett and Max resurfaced.
The development comes amid the heated protest against racism and white privilege in the US. In the same fashion, Hartley Sawyer, an American actor who cast as Ralph Dibny a.k.a. Elongated Man on The Flash, popular TV series, has been fired from the show.
He was fired over a collection of racist and misogynistic tweets he posted prior to joining the show.
