34 Years of Modelling: 9 Times Naomi Campbell Stunned In Ankara

Naomi Campbell, British super-model broke into the American modelling scene as a black woman. She has also managed for decades to sustain her position as a supermodel recognized internationally.

In addition to adding her own crack in fashion’s colour barrier since the late 80s, Campbell, 49, has trumped stereotypes that models are airheads and shouldn’t be allowed to speak.

34 years have passed since her career as a model began and she took to Instagram to celebrate it, while advising her followers to “love” what they do.

She shared a photo of her face and wrote: “34 years of modeling, love, growth, friendship, wisdom, joy, pain, loss, experience, fun, laughter and so much more.

“You have got to love what you do, love it everyday; through highs and the lows, the wins and the losses. I can honestly say I love what I do. And thank you all for being here with me every step of the way.”

However, to celebrate with Campbell, we will focus on some of the times she stunned in fantastic ankara outfits.

Check them out below.

Campbell got her break as a fashion model when she was just 15 years old. She has featured in advertising campaigns for luxury houses including Burberry, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino.

Beyond her work in fashion, she has used her celebrity for fundraising and non-profit initiatives across the globe. In 1997, Former South African President Nelson Mandela named Campbell an “honorary granddaughter” for her activism. She also now has a YouTube channel, Being Naomi.

Campbell aims to integrate African and international luxury markets “bringing storied retailers to countries; such as Nigeria, South Africa and Morocco, as well as introducing African artists to global audiences.”
