Last year (2020) ended with exciting Nollywood sequels that gave movie enthusiasts a much-needed buzz as the world battles the raging COVID-19.
Most of the movie sequels released at the time have only been accessible to those who risked it all to see them at the cinemas.
While these movies have been seen by a lot of people, eelive.ng understands that there are other people who are yet to see them for some reason.
Well, the exciting news is that the movies listed below will premiere on Netflix this year (2021)…
Omo Ghetto (The Saga)
Released and made available to cinemas across Nigeria, Omo Ghetto (The Saga) is a sequel to the 2010 trilogy film Omo Ghetto by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele.
The gangster comedy film starred –Funke Akindele-Bello (as Lefty) alongside, Chioma Akpotha (as Chummy Choko), Eniola Badmus (as Busty), Bimbo Thomas (as Nikky), Akah Nnani (as Mario), Alex Ekubo (Obi Wire), Zubby Michael (as Aza Man), Deyemi Okanlawon (as Stone), Timini Egbuson, Nancy Isime, Paschaline Alex, Mercy Aigbe among others.
Quam’s Money
This is also a 2020 Nigerian action comedy film written by Chinaza Onuzo, and directed by Kayode Kasum.
The film stars Nollywood actors, including –Falz, Toni Tones, Jemima Osunde, Blossom Chukwujekwu, and Nse Ikpe-Etim. It was a sequel to New Money, a 2018 film directed by Tope Oshin.
Rattle Snake: The Armadas
Rattlesnake, The Ahanna Story is a remake of 1995 Nollywood classic, Rattlesnake. The movie premiered across Nigerian cinemas in November last year (2020).
The Charles Okpaleke-produced film follows 2019’s remake, Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, which won seven awards at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2020, including the Best Movie and Best Overall Movie categories.
King of Boys
This year, the much-anticipated Kemi Adetiba‘s action thriller will finally premiere.
Released in 2018, King of Boys tells the story of a businesswoman and philanthropist with a promising political future.
Interestingly for Netflix subscribers, the streaming service has acquired the exclusive rights to the sequel.
