You stole From Fela’s Songs- Eedris Abdulkareem Slams Burna Boy

Eedris Abdulkareem, outspoken veteran Nigerian singer has slammed Burna Boy over his recent spill that nobody asides Fela or his family members can lay claim to paving the way for him (Read HERE).

The Jaga Jaga crooner who spoke in an interview with TVC accused Burna Boy of stealing Fela’s songs to become famous. He added that the self-proclaimed African Giant needs to apologise for his declaration because he stole from Afro-beats. Abdulkareem further queried the singer’s lyrics as opposed to Fela‘s touchy lyrics that has been effective in adding values.

I think with due respect, Burna Boy needs to apologise at least Fela made it happen for you and you stole a lot from Fela’s songs to become who you are, you stole from Afrobeats to become who you are even though Fela’s songs are strictly about messages that add value to the lives of people, what is your song about?”

Burna Boy Receives Platinum Plaque

Recall that Burna Boy generated outrage on social media for his recent numerous bold declarations. Since then, his popularity has spread like wild fire. The singer who lost the 40th Brits International Male Award to American rapper, Tyler, The Creator received a platinum plaque for featuring on Own It, a song by Stormzy, British rapper

The award-winning singer took to his social media page to share the feat with his numerous fans.

Platinum,” he simply wrote on Twitter.

The post was accompanied by pictures of the plaque and a short note certifying the African Giant crooner as the recipient of the honour.

Presented to Burna Boy to recognise sales in the United Kingdom of more than 600, 000 of the single ‘Own It’ 2019,” the note reads.

Eedris Abdulkareem on the other hand performed with hip-hop band The Remedies from 1997 until they split in 2002. He continued as a solo artist and released the album P.A.S.S. (“Pains And Stress = Success”) in 2002. His most popular songs are “Mr Lecturer” and “Jagga Jagga”.

However, Burna Boy is yet to comment on Abdulkareem‘s accusations.
