Tiffany Haddish likely to replace Ellen DeGeneres on TV show
American comedian and actor, Tiffany Haddish is very likely to replace Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen Show. The Girls Trip star has plenty of experience filling in for Ellen DeGeneres on the daytime talk show. However, this coming after she stood in for DeGeneres last October and in April this year.
Aside from guest hosting, Haddish has been gaining television hosting experience with CBS’s Kids Say The Darndest Things. She is also currently starring alongside, movie director and comedian, Billy Crystal in a new film, Here Today.
DeGeneres’ show is an NBC universal production. According to a senior NBC universal source, “Tiffany is a favourite, she has humour and empathy in spades. She’s top of the list to get a daytime show – she’s a fresh voice.”
Haddish may host Ellen’s show
Tiffany Haddish hosting the Ellen show does not surprise fans of the show. A lot of viewers were impressed with her when she supported Degeneres during her interview on the show.
Haddish said when she appeared as a frequent guest on The Ellen Show in September. After the show, she had said, ‘I mean, you the best. You know, I love you and I support you 110%.” DeGeneres had thanked her afterwards for appearing on the show.
Haddish was DeGeneres’ first guest after she made headlines following guests and ex-colleagues and claims of a hostile work climate.
It was revealed in February that DeGeneres owned the rights to the show which is syndicated and produced by Warner Bros. Therefore, this would make it really difficult to replace her without unveiling a new format with a new host.
Haddish has been flexing her hosting muscles on CBS’s Kids Say The Darndest Things. This is in addition to her guest-hosting duties. The 41-year-old rose to fame after starring alongside Queen Latifah in the 2017 comedy flick, Girls Trip.
However, television legend Gayle King is looking forward to seeing Tiffany Haddish host her own talk show. He said, “I think that could be fun. That would be great fun.”
“They know she can do the job. Kelly Clarkson is doing great. So they’ve got some options, but there still is only one Ellen,” he adds.
